Supporting the Preparation of Competent Workforces, Semen Gresik Facilitates the Community with the SKK Ahli K3 Certificate Program

Rembang, March 23, 2022 - PT Semen Gresik (PTSG), through one of its programs, the SG Cerdas Pillar, facilitates the community around the company to obtain a Certificate of Competency with an Expert Qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (SKK Ahli K3).

The certificate program agenda for job-seeking university graduates with a minimum educational degree of associate's degree will be held at the Rumah BUMN Rembang (a marketing center for local MSME products) from March 21 to April 1, 2022. The speakers or instructors for the SKK Ahli K3 certificate program will include the representatives of the Ministry of Manpower, Manpower Office, and practitioners in the field of Occupational Health and Safety.

The Senior Manager of Communication and CSR Unit of PTSG, Dharma Sunyata, explained that the certificate program appears as the company's social responsibility and support in improving local community human resources, especially in preparing competent workforces around its operational areas.

''This SKK Ahli K3 certificate program is essential, especially for job-seeking fresh graduates. This certificate can boost their confidence and performance later in their workplaces,'' said Sunyata in a press release, Wednesday (3/23).

Sunyata continued that the SKK Ahli K3 certificate program is part of an annual program called Survival Capacity Building initiated by Semen Gresik to provide access for local communities to self-development. Meanwhile, the main objective of this certificate program is to equip the community with certain qualifications on how to work safely and healthily to ensure higher productivity.

In obtaining the certificate, Sunyata continued, one must undergo intensive training for several days and pass the competency test. PTSG plays its role as the training organizer and cooperates with the Ministry of Manpower, the institution authorized to issue such certificates.

Sunyata added that the real benefit of holding this certificate is that it opens up more opportunities to improve one's career since it verifies that this individual has a more excellent skill than those who do not hold this certificate.

''If the workers have obtained the certificate of competency with an expert qualification in occupational health and safety according to the standards set by the Ministry of Manpower, we believe that they will be recognized globally. So, this certificate is indispensable, especially for employees working in high-risk environments,'' he said.

During the training, the participants received detailed information about the OHS Policy, Law Number 1 of 1970 concerning Occupational Safety, Basics of OHS, OHS Supervision, OHS Management System, Risk Management, Field Visit Practices, and Preparation of Field Visit Reports.

The participants, said Dharma, also received additional training in understanding the HSE Plan, the CANDO principles (Cleaning up, Arranging, Neatness, Discipline, Ongoing Improvement), and Confined Space.
